Drone Light Shows Near Kansas City

The lawn below the Liberty Memorial fills at dusk, the skyline lights up behind the tower, and the sky between them starts to tell a story.

Immersion Drone Theatre is a national drone light show company. For Kansas City we bring the crew, the fleet, and our own power, so the production is self-contained from load-in to finale.

The local stage

A drone light show over the city of fountains

Kansas City stages its civic life outdoors like few cities in America. The Plaza Lighting has drawn crowds every Thanksgiving for a century. The Liberty Memorial’s lawn is a natural amphitheater with a landmark tower and the skyline arranged behind it like a set. Arrowhead holds the loudest crowd in football. This is a city that knows how to gather, and gathering crowds is the only hard part of a drone show the venue has to solve.

We solve the rest, and KC makes it easy for us. The production arrives by road: crew, fleet, staging, and our own power, with no airfreight in the quote. Airspace here is layered but familiar work, the downtown airport across from Berkley Riverfront, event-day restrictions over the sports complex, and we complete the FAA authorization and coordination before show night, documented for your events office.

The creative fits this city unusually well. Kansas City’s icons draw beautifully in light: the Liberty Memorial’s tower, the Plaza’s Spanish rooflines, fountains rendered four hundred feet tall, a crown the whole metro would recognize. Choreography can give a civic night, a championship celebration, or a company centennial a story instead of a bang.

The city of fountains has been reflecting light for a hundred years. We add the sky.

The Invisible Shield

The safety answer, before you ask.

Kansas City sites coordinate with the metro's layered airspace, the downtown airport sits right across the river from Berkley Riverfront, and Arrowhead and Kauffman bring event-day flight restrictions. All of it is standard work: FAA authorization, airport coordination, two independent geofencing layers, and aviation liability insurance, completed before show night.

  • 2-Layer Geofencing
  • Turnkey FAA & Fire Marshal Coordination
  • Aviation Liability Insurance

The Showstopper

Monumental & Unmissable

The Audience: Tens of thousands, plus everyone watching the broadcast.

Best For: Major city holidays, large festivals, marquee product launches, and televised sports.

Engineered for the gasp. Structures big enough to read from miles away and detailed enough to bring every phone up at once, more than one story unfolding overhead, too much for any single person to hold. This is what a place puts in the sky when it wants to be remembered.

Kansas City questions

Asked and answered.

Do you really produce shows in Kansas City?

Comfortably. We bring the crew, the fleet, and our own generators to Kansas City by road, so there are no freight bills or fly-in markups and the production is self-contained. For a touring production, KC is one of the easiest reaches on our map.

Where would a drone show fly in Kansas City?

The Liberty Memorial lawn is one of the best show sites in the Midwest: elevation, a landmark in the frame, and the skyline behind it. Berkley Riverfront adds water and downtown views, with coordination for the downtown airport across the river built into the plan. And the Plaza's holiday crowds are a stage waiting for a sky.

How much does a drone light show cost in Kansas City?

Custom and all-inclusive, driven by drone count and choreography, with travel already in the quote. Share the occasion and budget range and we will size the show honestly.

How far ahead should we book a Kansas City show?

A few weeks can work, about two months is comfortable, and 90 days fits sites near the downtown airport or under stadium restrictions. For the Fourth of July and the Plaza Lighting window, three to six months, those dates are civic institutions.
