The sky is not the show. It is the stage.
From a distance, a drone light show is just a display. Stand beneath it, and it transforms: you stop watching and start feeling. That feeling is the heart of what we build, which is why every detail begins with the audience.
We start at the end
Most drone shows are designed on a screen and then flown into the sky. We work in the opposite direction.
We start with the audience. Where they will stand. What they will hear. What builds in them before the first light appears. Then the story, the sky, the score and the setting all build backward from one feeling too big to hold alone, felt by everyone at once.
That is why we call it Theatre. The drones are one instrument. We write the whole score.

Two decades in the air
Most drone show companies started by buying drones. We started by building them.
Between our pilots and our engineering, the team brings more than two decades of combined flight experience: drone photography, competitive racing, and designing and manufacturing the aircraft and the components that fly them. Our founder is the 2024 Street League Drone Racing National Champion, and our lead engineer has taken the podium at national events from MultiGP to Freedom Spec to Street League.
That is an unusual foundation for a show company, and it shows up in the work. We know these aircraft at the level of the airframe, not the sales brochure. When something goes wrong at 400 feet, we are not calling a vendor.
The look on their faces
This technology can do a great many things. We were only ever interested in one of them.
A few minutes into every show, you can stop watching the sky and watch the crowd instead. Faces lit from above. Nobody talking. A few people crying, and most of them could not tell you why.
That is the whole reason this company exists. Not the technology. Not the spectacle. That look is how we know we did our job.

The team
Jamison Russell
Jamison found drones in 2016 and never really came back down. What started as a drone photography business in Michigan turned into competitive racing, then into designing and building the machines themselves. He is the 2024 Street League Drone Racing National Champion and runs SpeedSourceFPV, designing and selling components for racing pilots.
He founded Immersion Drone Theatre on a simple conviction: that the most interesting thing you can do with this technology is put it in front of a crowd and watch what happens to them.
Mark Huff II
Mark has been flying since 2018 and is a well-known figure in the drone racing community, both for his work in small unmanned aircraft technology and for the many pilots he has mentored along the way. He runs Freeform Solutions LLC in Indiana, brings deep expertise in FAA regulations and sUA design and engineering, and has taken the podium at national events from MultiGP to Freedom Spec to Street League.
A U.S. military veteran who served in Iraq, Mark holds every flight to the highest standard of safety and compliance. He engineers and flies the aircraft so the audience never has to think about them.
Immersion Drone Theatre is based in Windsor, Colorado, producing drone light shows for cities, festivals, stadiums, brands, and private celebrations nationwide.
Every show is FAA Part 107 certified, fully insured, and coordinated with local fire and public safety authorities. We handle the airspace so you can focus on your audience.
