Boulder is the city the drone light show was invented for, whether it knows it yet or not. This is a town that banned personal fireworks, guards its open space, measures its air quality, and still loves a spectacle, it just insists the spectacle deserve the setting. A choreographed sky, silent, clean, and gone without a trace ten minutes after the finale, is the first big-night format that meets Boulder on its own terms.
The settings are absurdly good. Boulder Reservoir gives a show open water and a Front Range horizon. Folsom Field wraps it in a century of college tradition. The Civic Area puts it over Boulder Creek, close enough to Pearl Street that the crowd can walk to dinner afterward. And everywhere in town, the Flatirons stand in the background like a set piece the design team could never afford.
We are a Northern Colorado company, under an hour away, and we work the way Boulder audiences expect: the compliance documented, the launch zones planned around open space boundaries, the sound level of the whole production lower than the applause. Formations are choreographed to music, timed to the story of your event, and designed from the vantage point of the crowd on the lawn.

Boulder restricts fireworks. Is a drone light show actually allowed?
Yes. Fireworks restrictions exist because of falling debris, smoke, noise, and fire risk, and a drone light show has none of them. Nothing burns and nothing falls to the ground. Shows still require FAA authorization and city and venue permissions, which we secure as part of every production. It is the spectacle written for a city like Boulder.
How much does a drone show cost in Boulder?
Every show is a custom proposal, sized by drone count, choreography, and site logistics. Boulder sits under an hour from our Northern Colorado base, so quotes carry no travel premium. Bring us the occasion and a budget range, and we will design to it.
Where could a drone light show fly in Boulder?
The Reservoir is the standout: water, parking, and sightlines for a citywide crowd. Folsom Field and the CU campus work for university nights, and the Civic Area stages intimate downtown events. Open space boundaries shape what is possible, and we plan around them from the first site visit.
How far in advance should we book a Boulder show?
A few weeks can work when the calendar is kind, and two months is the window we suggest. Add margin, roughly 90 days, when a site needs layered approvals or sits near controlled airspace. The Fourth of July and New Year's Eve are the exception: three to six months, because Boulder's big dates book early.
