Aspen operations are mountain operations: the Aspen-Pitkin County airport's approach corridor threads the same valley as the town, density altitude at nearly 8,000 feet changes aircraft performance, and valley winds have their own schedule. We plan all three. FAA authorization and airport coordination are built into every Aspen proposal, our fleet is flown within tested high-altitude limits, and nothing in the show burns or falls on a dry valley floor.

Why did Aspen switch from fireworks to drone shows?
Wildfire risk, primarily: a dry valley, forested slopes, and crowds in the middle of it made traditional pyrotechnics harder to justify every year. Aspen was among the first towns in the country to make the switch for its Fourth of July, and the format stuck because it fits, silent in a valley that echoes, clean over land the town spends millions protecting, and endlessly redesignable.
Can drones perform at Aspen's altitude?
Yes, with the right planning. Thin air at 8,000 feet reduces aircraft efficiency, so fleet selection, flight envelopes, and wind margins are all engineered for the elevation rather than copied from a sea-level playbook. We confirm site-specific performance as part of every mountain proposal.
How much does a drone light show cost in Aspen?
